Do you have a recommendation on a first step in learning about Orthodox more? Perhaps a book that really spoke to you? Thank you.

One way to learn is by experience. My first experience of Eastern (Russian) Christian Orthodoxy was attending a divine liturgy on a Sunday. It was an unexpectedly mystical, peaceful and sensorially stunning experience. That was over a year ago and I am undergoing serious spiritual renewal since inquiring the faith. Like Yolande pointed to, you begin to crave it. It's so deeply nourishing. And yes, hard spiritual work. No turning back -- Glory to God! Christ is Risen (and rising in the souls of many)!

"It’s both immensely painful and unbearably beautiful, and there is no going back."

Perfectly encapsulates my experience becoming an Orthodox Christian. So excited for your family!

We are catechumens too and these resonate with me so deeply. Glory to God!

I’m loving all your orthodox content. Our family became catechumens last year. We, too, have Central American residency(in Costa Rica), but prefer to stay in the US to be close to our parish community. It’s a total change in lifestyle and culture, but life has never been better.

Yolande, I've been following your work for close to eight years now and it has always been so deeply impactful and resonant. I was in utter shock and awe when I saw your Instagram post a year or so ago, with your family and Father Steven, being catechized. That was around the same time I began regularly attending his parish in North Carolina. I am loving the greater emphasis on Orthodoxy in your writings as of late. Thank you for sharing. I can attest and relate to everything you are speaking to here!

As much as we absolutely love our parish here in NC, we are open to considering a move in order to find a good Orthodox school for our young children. Would you be willing to privately message me and share the school and parish you attend? I am very curious. You seem to be having an exceptional experience with this place, community and school. Glory to God!
